1. The software is open-source (MIT)
ServerMind is licensed under the MIT License. That license governs your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software — see the LICENSE file. Nothing here restricts the rights the MIT License grants you; these terms add context for the website and hosted scripts.
2. Provided "as is" — no warranty
The software and this website are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use — including data loss, downtime, or actions taken on your servers. You use it at your own risk.
3. You run it; you're responsible for it
ServerMind runs on infrastructure you control. You are responsible for:
- Authorization — only install and point ServerMind at servers you own or are explicitly authorized to manage.
- Securing access — your login credentials, TOTP device, network exposure (use a tunnel or HTTPS), and keeping the host patched.
- The actions you take — ServerMind can run privileged changes only after you arm them; you are responsible for changes you approve, including those you set up as custom tools.
- Your data and backups — ServerMind is not a backup service.
4. AI providers & third-party services
ServerMind connects to an AI backend you choose and configure. Your use of that provider (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible APIs, a local model, etc.) is governed by that provider's own terms and pricing, under your own account — we are not a party to it and are not responsible for its availability, output, or charges. The website likewise relies on third-party services (e.g. a CDN and analytics) governed by their own terms.
5. No endorsement of output
Answers and suggested actions are generated by your AI provider and may be wrong. Review what the assistant proposes before arming a change. ServerMind's guardrails (read-only allowlist, the arm switch, read-only database access) reduce risk but do not guarantee correctness.
6. Trademarks
Product and company names referenced (e.g. on the comparison page) belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their mention is not an endorsement.
7. Changes
These terms may change as the project evolves; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the maintainer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where the MIT License and these terms differ regarding the software, the MIT License controls.
